Muriel A. Weisenstein

Muriel A. Weisenstein, 84, of Charles City, passed away Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

A Memorial service will be held at a future date.

The daughter of Guy and Gladys (Monsen) Troutner, Muriel Ardith Troutner was born on April 2, 1937 in Nashua, Iowa. She attended country school near Nashua and graduated from Nashua High School among the class of 1955.

Throughout the years Muriel worked at the Charles City Creamery, Fareway, and the Cowell Co Op before retiring in 2009. Following her retirement Muriel worked part time at Charles City Electronics.

Muriel enjoyed tatting, crocheting, reading, Christmas baking, spending time with her grandchildren and attending their school and sporting events; she never missed any of their activities!

Those grateful in sharing in her life are her children, Sandy Weisenstein Crooks, and Russ (Darla) Weisenstein; grandchildren, Travis (Angie) Crooks, and their children, Ella and Leearah; Jennifer Crooks; and Tyler (Renee) Weisenstein, and their children, Brecklynn and Wyatt; siblings, Gwen Matthews, Frank Troutner, Natalie (John) Lavender, and Barb (Don) Krull; sister-in-law, Carolyn Troutner; as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family members and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Luke Weisenstein; brother, Mel Troutner; brother-in-law, Marvin Matthews; and sister-in-law, Kay Troutner.
